I captured this lonely African Lily at Odeceixe Beach on the west coast of the Algarve. It is a magnificent coastline stretching all the way to Lisbon. I plan to go back there for more photos.
Yesterday, there was no wind and temperatures of 29. The sand is as fine as you can get and a deep golden colour. There is a wide shallow river that winds around the beach on the right hand side and turns the beach into a sandbar.

I wandered along the clifftops to get different perspectives but this one captured the sense of the beach against the cliffs. The sky and horizon were hazy and the inland temperature 33 degrees.
I found a small coffee shop tucked into a corner in the cliffs and met Colin!! He is between assignments.

On Thursday I invited Roel and Ria, my Dutch neighbours, into my awning for beers and snacks. Roel is crazy about photography and has given me about 20 e-books on portraiture mainly. We had some great chats and they left yesterday for a 2 week trip home.
Friday I went to Selema, another beach resort about 20 km west and had lunch in Atlantico restaurant where Sandra and I went a few times. It is perched over the beach and I took some great pics of her there 3 years ago. That night I went to the Acrobat show in the campsite.
I am keeping up my walks on Meia praia beach and my gym visits. On Tuesday I went with 3 Portuguese guys on a campsite walk to Praia da Luz. Almost 5 weeks here and loving it.XX
